Decorating a Bit Early
When Cameron came home from Allentown last Friday night, Samuel and I had a surprise for him - we had put together our Christmas tree!!! He was happy but wondered if it wasn't a little early to have put it up. I'm usually pretty staunch about waiting until after Thanksgiving (or even until December 1st) to decorate for Christmas, but there was something different this year - WE HAVE A CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!!!! I love love love Christmas trees, it's my favorite secular part of the whole Christmas season, and Cameron and I as a couple have never had one before. When my friend Katie (the one in VA) left Hershey, she gave us some things that they didn't need anymore, and one of them was a fake Christmas tree. That was back in June, and I've been dying to get to put it together ever since.
Samuel helped give me the branches so I could put them all together, and when Caleb woke up from his nap he was very excited. We've been having so much fun with it! I bought lights, and we put up the few ornaments we have. I need to go out and get some tinsel and a star so we can finish it up. It might look a bit bare to others, but to me it's the most beautiful tree I've seen in a long time because it's in my apartment. :0) Thank you Katie for my own little Christmas miracle!
So I know it's two days before Thanksgiving but... MERRY CHRISTMAS!! ;0)

That's awesome! Christmas trees are so much fun!
Merry Christmas-how fun to put up your own tree this year and have Samuel to help you. I bet Caleb was so excited to wake up and find it there!
yay!!!! You have a tree. How exciting. Christmas is way more fun with your own tree. We put ours up today and Erik could barely contain his excitment. I bet those boys thought it was cool too.
I was going to say that you should get a scented candle, so then it smells like Christmas as much as it looks like Christmas, but then I remembered who I was talking to! Isn't having a tree the best thing ever??? Merry Christmas!!!
i too love a good christmas tree. my caleb was NUTS about my parents' tree this year. i think it's time for us to upgrade from the two-foot tabletop tree we used as childless folk. :)
